जन्माष्टमी, भगवान कृष्ण का जन्मदिन जुलाई या अगस्त के महीने में भारत में बड़ी श्रद्धा और उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाता है। हिंदू कैलेंडर के अनुसार यह धार्मिक त्योहार कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी या भादो के महीने में अंधेरे पखवाड़े के 8 वें दिन मनाया जाता है।

श्री कृष्ण को भगवान विष्णु के सबसे शक्तिशाली मानव अवतारों में से एक माना जाता है। उनका जन्म 5,200 साल पहले मथुरा में हुआ था। श्रीकृष्ण के जन्म का एकमात्र उद्देश्य पृथ्वी को राक्षसों की बुराई से मुक्त करना था। उन्होंने महाभारत में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई और भक्ति और अच्छे कर्म के सिद्धांत का प्रचार किया जो भागवत गीता में गहराई से वर्णित है।

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm in India in the month of July or August. According to the Hindu calendar, this religious festival is celebrated on the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Ashtami or Bhado of Krishna Paksha.

Shri Krishna is considered one of the most powerful human incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He was born 5,200 years ago in Mathura. The sole purpose of Shri Krishna's birth was to free the earth from the evil of demons. He played an important role in the Mahabharata and preached the principle of devotion and good deeds which is deeply described in the Bhagavad Gita.

Sri Krishna was born in prison under the patronage of Kamsa. Vasudeva, his father, immediately thought of his friend Nanda and decided to entrust his child to him to save Krishna from the clutches of Kamsa. Krishna grew up in Gokul and eventually killed his uncle Raja Kansa.
